On June 15, 2019, a competition of fishermen was successfully held in Pertnieki.

The purpose of the competition was promoting fishing, exchanging experience and promoting tourism in Pertnieki, Latgale.

Fishing tourism in Pertnieki is promoted with rich fish resources and activities involving catering services, recreational and accommodation facilities. In total, 55 participants from Latvia, Russia, Estonia and Lithuania participated in fishing competition. The participants fished throughout the competition in their own, specific sector. The competition lasted for 8 hours. At the time of the event, the participants were treated with trout soup and other dishes served by "Pertnieku Gardumi".

The first place with the highest weight of fish caught was taken by Raitis Kozlovskis(LV), with a result of 71.5 kg of fish.

The second place with a total weight of 51.8 kg of fish caught was taken by Boris Pivovarov (RUS).

The third place was taken by Alexander Nikitin(EST), with a total weight of 41.3 kg of fish caught.

The largest fish - 20 kg - was caught by Sergey Kaminski (LV).

The first three-place winners in the gift received cups and Pertnieki cuarry gift cards.

The prize was also awarded by the largest catched fish winner and the youngest fisherman.
